Replacing a Two-Way Door in a Kitchen or Work Area
By-swing doors open in both directions, so staff can pass with carts or trays without stopping. With a 40 mm insulated leaf, they are a practical replacement for worn two-way doors between kitchens, preparation and service areas at ambient temperature, where traffic is constant. They are not cooler or freezer doors: for the cold room itself, choose a swing or sliding door.
To quote a replacement by-swing door we need: the clear opening width and height, the wall thickness, one or two leaves and a few photos of the current door and frame.
Replacement door FAQs
Can I use a by-swing door on a walk-in cooler or freezer?
No. Our by-swing doors are for work areas at ambient temperature. For a walk-in cooler choose a 60 mm swing or sliding door, and for a freezer an 80 mm swing or sliding door.
When should I choose a by-swing door?
When people pass in both directions all day, usually with their hands full, between areas at ambient temperature such as a kitchen and its prep or service areas.
Can you also install the new door?
We can quote the installation together with the door. Availability and scope depend on the project and its location, and we confirm them with your quote; if you prefer, we supply the door only for your own installer.

Request a replacement door quoteDouble-acting doors for kitchens and work areas
By-swing doors are double-acting (two-way) doors that open in both directions, in single or double leaf, with a 40 mm insulated leaf, for kitchens, preparation and service areas at ambient temperature. They are not cold room doors: for walk-in coolers and freezers, choose our insulated swing doors (60 mm cooler / 80 mm freezer leaf) or sliding doors.
