Upgrading a Busy Cold Storage Opening to a High-Speed Door
If a cold storage or freezer door is opened many times an hour, a high-speed rapid roll door can reduce the time the opening stays open and the cold air that escapes. Our rapid roll doors have a lacquered aluminum structure and a 0.8 mm PVC curtain (950 g/m²), from 39 × 79 in (1000 × 2000 mm) up to 177 × 177 in (4500 × 4500 mm), a light-curtain safety system and opening sensor, with versions for positive temperatures and for negative temperatures down to −7.6 °F (−22 °C), depending on configuration. We recommend the right model (standard, self-repairing or reinforced) for your traffic.
To quote a high-speed door we need: the opening width and height, the room temperature, the number of openings per day and whether the door is interior or exterior.
Replacement door FAQs
Is a high-speed door a replacement for a swing or sliding door?
It depends on the use: for openings with frequent forklift or pallet traffic, a rapid door is often the better choice. For rooms opened less often, an insulated swing or sliding door keeps the temperature more stable.
Can you also install the new door?
We can quote the installation together with the door. Availability and scope depend on the project and its location, and we confirm them with your quote; if you prefer, we supply the door only for your own installer.

High-speed rapid roll doors are roll-up doors for cold rooms, coolers and freezer openings: the 950 g/m² fabric curtain rolls up and down quickly, so a busy opening stays open for less time. There are versions for positive temperatures and high-speed freezer doors for negative temperatures down to −7.6 °F (−22 °C), depending on configuration. For an insulated door that closes the room tightly, see our swing cooler and freezer doors or sliding doors.
